Carl was a medic and in the Dental Corp while in the Navy from 1945 – 1948. The Navy is what brought him to Bremerton, WA, where he met and married Betty Prebula. Carl retired from the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard where he was a nuclear power technician.
Carl was a member of the Elks Lodge #1181 for more than 43 years. He was a board member for 7 years and became a Life Member in 2006. It was at the Elks that Carl met Joni and enjoyed many of the activities there. Carl loved to dance, play cards & later in life enjoyed cruising with Joni.
Carl was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Betty (Prebula) Oswald. He is survived by his two children, Julia (Greg) Farmer and John (Teri) Oswald, grandchildren Brandon Farmer, Kimberly (Russell) Valentine, Brian and Carl Oswald. He is also survived by two greatgrandchildren, Kasey Farmer and Hollis Valentine. In addition, Carl is survived by his companion of 10 years, Joni Priest and her extended family.
Our song was, “Can I Have This Dance for the Rest of My Life”. We had a great dance… “Hugs”
