Bremerton, Washington.
Mr Wood was born November 28th, 1941, in Bremerton to Elman and Viola Wood. After
graduating from West High School in 1960, he served his country for many years, first
enlisting in the US army, then at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard where he worked as a
shipfitter until his retirement in 1995.
Denny, Frank Nuttman and friends, and his wife Charlotte, whom he married in 1977,
completed the construction of their dream home in Seabeck in 1980 mere days before
the birth of their daughter Renee, and enjoyed many seasons of sunshine and snow
there together.
Denny was a man of many hobbies and interests, including but not limited to bowling,
pool, watching his Seattle sports teams, and spending sunny summer days at their Lake
Tahuya property. Above all, he had a passion for restoring and displaying classic
automobiles. He could be found at cars shows up and down the west coast, showing off
his beloved ‘62 black Pontiac convertible Bonneville, which he rolled for 44 years.
Recently in life, he also acquired his life-long dream car, a 1940 Ford convertible, which
he was in the process of restoring.
To a person, those who knew Denny speak of his winning smile, the mischievous
twinkle in his eye, and his penchant for telling hilarious stories of “the old times.” He
was an unparalleled storyteller.
He is survived by his wife, Charlotte; daughter, Renee; his grandchildren, nieces and
nephews, and dog Sophie. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Richard
and Ron, and his sister Joan.
