

Jackie was born Sep 1,1933 in Crosby Minnesota to George A. Perkins and Myrtle V.
Valiquet -Perkins . They moved from Minnesota to Bremerton, WA in 1943.
Jackie graduated from Bremerton High and went on to the University of Washington majoring in Math and Chemistry. She took classes from Southern California University and the University of Connecticut obtaining a Master's in Education.
Jackie was an elementary school teacher in Connecticut. Upon returning to Silverdale, WA she worked as a Program Analysist for Trident Training Facility at Bangor, WA. On Dec 31,1955 she married the late Walter Gerald (Jerry) Horton thus embarking on the Navy Life with him while raising their four children.
Jackie loved doing Genealogy and was a member of the Puget Sound Genealogical Society. Other hobbies include traveling, reading, crocheting & working out and loved wildlife.
She is survived by her children Jacquelyn A. Horton, Leslie M. Horton & Walter M. Horton. Her grandchildren Shaun Horton, Bridget Vermette, Robb Hannawacker, Sarah Robertson, Steven Begley, Joshua Horton, Maegan Horton & Eric Horton plus great grandchildren Colton, Bryndle Alyssa, Emily & Harper and One Sister Sandi Perkins and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her Husband Jerry Horton Nov 20, 2012 and daughter Lori Jo Horton Hannawacker Sep 14, 2011. Her parents George Perkins and Myrtle Perkins, and four sisters and one brother LaReine Emery, Shirley Corwin, Beverly Olson, Vernon Perkins, Sharon Parolini
There will be a graveside service June 15, 2023 at 2 pm at Miller Woodlawn Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to the Kitsap Humane Society.
A Celebration of Life will be at Silverdale Waterfront Park Gazebo July 15, 2023 10 - 5. Please join us in celebrating her full and happy life.
