Kenneth Leroy was born to the late Gladys Lee Lewis on November 9, 1966. The only boy to six children. He was King at birth. He was introduced to Christ at an early age and grew up in Sinclair Missionary Baptist Church. He was baptized and participated in church activities. Kenneth Leroy grew up in Bremerton loving his family, friends, sports, and his Pittsburg Steelers. He played pee-wees for West Bremerton. Attended Bremerton High where he played basketball, baseball, football, and ran track, and graduated in 1984.
Through Gladys Lee Lewis’ eyes, Kenneth Leroy was the “King”. That mark stood within the Lewis family. He was waited on hand and foot, by his sisters, aunts, and uncles. A special kind that could enter a room and all eyes on him. His frequency was magnetic to all. And his smile and words had a special way with the ladies. That’s when the name “Playboy Roy” appeared.
Kenneth Leroy was a Jack of All Trades, workaholic who did any- and everything that was needed and more. Just don’t pay him first, HA! If so, he would say “I’ll be right back” and the job wouldn’t be finished until the next day. He was employed with Bekin Moving Storage Company, where his big cousin Tony Lewis gave him the name “Grasshopper”. Teach him something once and he would turn it into something better. He moved on from Bekin and went to United Moving Storage Company where he worked until his calling.
His hobbies were his kids, Kanesha Lewis and Kenny Lewis, and his three G’s (grandkids), Dyon Sellers, Dyvonte Sellers, and ZaNiyah Nouden. He enjoyed watching his two G’boys’ practices, games, their sleepovers with their friends, and birthdays. His G Princess was his heart/everything. He also enjoyed spending time with his “Barbie doll” Rhonda Knox Hemphill, attending concerts, casinos, walks, and watching his Pittsburg Steelers.
Kenneth Leroy is proceeded at the Heavenly Gates by his mother, Gladys Lee Lewis, sisters Carla D Lewis Floyd, Lorether Lewis Mahon, and nieces Demerius L. Henderson and Ka’Layiah Dewberry.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories two children, Kanesha Lewis and Kenny Lewis, three grandchildren, Dyon Sellers, Dyvonte Sellers, and ZaNiyah Nouden. His sisters Yulanda Montgomery, Lolether (Jim) Nix, both of Bremerton, and baby sister Tonya Lewis-Williams. Among the rest he leaves behind a host of nieces, nephew, aunts, uncles, cousins, and a lot of friends that became family.
