

Red was born in Peoria, IL, on March 17, 1938--St. Patrick's Day. He and his five siblings were all named after Catholic Saints, based on their birth date.
Red was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard O. Boyle, Sr., and Agnes Scurry Boyle, and his five siblings: June Boyle Aylward Westerdale, Leonard O. Boyle, Jr., Constance "Connie" Boyle Fitzgerald, Mary Margaret "Maggie" Boyle Manca, and Geraldine "Geri" Boyle Becker.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Donna Gay Lent Stirrett Boyle; his children, Patrick L. Boyle, Jr. (Anne-France), Erin (Tom) Hoyle, and Michael (Becky) Boyle; and 4 stepchildren, Steven (Lisa) Stirrett, Holly (Steve) Kessler, Tracy Stirrett, and Allen (Sunni) Stirrett. Also, his step-niece, Leeann Lent (Marcus) Johnson. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren: Madeleine Boyle, Liam Boyle, Josephine Boyle, Morgan
(Will) McNeil, Kate Hoyle, Emily Boyle, James (Marie) Stirrett, Niles (Julie) Stirrett, Taylor Leigh, Sean McConaughy, and Adam McConaughy, Cyrus Johnson, Shiloh Johnson, Matt (Abby) Olson, Mary Stirrett, and Harrison Stirrett, and 5 great-grandchildren. He has many nieces and nephews.
Patrick's parents relocated to Galveston, TX. He spent a year at Bradley University in Chicago, IL, before enlisting in the United States Navy in Houston, TX. He was selected for flight training in Pensacola, FL Drill Team Class, in 1959. He was Commissioned Ensign and Designated a Naval Aviator on March 10, 1960. He trained on T-2, T-34, T-28, and C-45 aircraft, in addition to S-2, S-3, R-7, WV, C47, and C17 aircraft.
He proudly served as an officer and pilot aboard eight different carriers: USS Antietam, USS Bennington, USS Hornet, USS Ticonderoga, USS Ranger, US Kitty Hawk, USS Enterprise, and USS Coral Sea. He often served as a Navy chaplain aboard aircraft carriers. His long-standing friendships with other pilots from that era have been celebrated in 5-year reunions.
After 22 years of service, Red retired as a Commander, United States Navy.
His new career was in real estate with Reid Realty, and he worked with commercial customers to build the burgeoning Kitsap County, WA, market over the next 20 years.
He loved the arts and music--especially the Admiral Theatre and he was dedicated to preserving natural resources. During Red's years in Bremerton, he was a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM), and he was Executive Director of the East Bremerton YMCA.
He is dearly loved and will be missed by all his family and friends.
Remembrances in Red's name can be made to the Admiral Theatre in Bremerton.
A Celebration of Life for family and friends will be held on August 6, 2022 at 1:30 at the Boat Shed in Bremerton WA.
