Dear Mum, I'm so sorry to hear of Ralph's passing.  I remember that he was kind,gentle, calm, and full of love family.  The boyfriend who was I loved when I was 25-29 yrs. old, died Aug. 27th,2015.  It was also really hard to me, but also now I think that he lives in my heart.  Ralph also continue to live in my memory.  Love,Chihiro

Dear Aunt Merilee, Laurel and Lanette  - Thank you for sharing your wonderful husband and father with me for all these years. I truly loved Uncle Ralph and thank my lucky stars that I was lucky enough to have him in my life. Before Uncle Ralph went to Seattle to meet the love of his life he would hang out at my house with my Mom and Dad and me when I was a baby. My parents told me of the hours he would spend playing with me and loving me and giving me attention. They told me I called him Unx -- and we still will call him that between us. And, also how he would hold his warm smooth watch up against my ear --and how my eyes would widen in amazement at the soft ticking and his smiling brown eyes looking into mine!  I also so appreciate the vacation I took to visit you and remember being so overwhelmed with gratitude when I realized you all took off the entire week to devote to me and to showing me your beautiful home, mountains, water, lifestyle, and love for family. When I think of any of you and of Uncle Ralph still with me forever -- I feel warmly hugged. I hope someone will say the same about me. I love you all.

Dear Aunt Merilee,
Loving, charming, unique and a consummate family man, that was Uncle Ralph.  Laurel and Lanette will carry-on being true to his love of travel and even having some of his mannerisms or repeating some of his favorite sayings. Like Sabine, I remember him with great fondness.  How lucky were we, to have such a special, exceptional Uncle!!  It gives me comfort to know that Laurel and Lanette are there for you and a source of comfort to you.  I adore you.  I adored Uncle Ralph.  Please find comfort in your memories.  I love you.

Dear Merilee,

I am so sorry to hear about Ralph's death. I want to express a deep sympathy with you, Merilee, with Laurel and Lanette.I am very touched even though we have not seen each other for such a long time, we have not shared our lifes anymore. But in a moment like this one remembers the good things and the times of closeness  in our lifes. I remember that I called him Dad when I was staying with you.
I remember that he liked to listen on Sunday mornings to records of country singers like Emmylou Harris and Linda Ronstadt at the time. And I have bought records of them lateron when I wanted to have this feeling of my time in Bremerton.
I can see him eating his dinner, I remember how he drank his coffee and tea, how he held his glasses.I even can imagine his voice and the way he smiled.
I have such a good memory of the sundays when we went to Seattle to the Science Center, to the Spaghetti factory... and much more...
Often I have thought one day I go with my sisters Barbara und Jutta  to Bremerton and visit you. But we are all always so busy working that one does not notice how time goes by except in a Moment like this.

Please pass my deep feelings of sorrow to Lanette and Laurel as well. I am so sorry for you all.

I wish you a lot of strength for yourself. How is your health, Merilee? Please be sure that there a good thoughts with you all over the world due to your open house to so many young people.
