

Richard Wayne Harlan of Port Orchard, WA. He was born in Seattle, WA, and passed on Jan 20th, 2016. He traveled the world with his parents as a Navy brat. At the age of 17 he enlisted in the Army and served in the Korean War. Upon his return he met the love of his life Avis. He worked at Kaiser Gypsum relocating to New Jersey returning 4 years later owning his own carpet business. He returned from PSNS, 5/07 in 1997. Richard had a love for the outdoors from traveling in then the motor home, motorcycles four wheeling and old cars. He was a master mechanic and carpenter. He was a loving husband, father, grandpa, and uncle. He will forever be missed and live eternally in the heart of his family. Not a day will pass that he will not be missed. He is survived by his wife Avis Harlan, son Russell Harlan (Terry), daughter Sherie and husband Doug Anderson, Carol Terry, 4 grandsons, 1 granddaughter, 13 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Eary C. and Lucille Harlan, in laws Royal and Ada Redwood. Services will be held January 29th, 2016 at 1:00pm at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home. Following the Memorial Service at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home, there will be a Celebration of Life held at The Eagles located at 4001 Jackson Ave SE, Port Orchard, Washington 98366 from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm.
