Robert (Bob) Wheeler passed away after a brief illness on May 5.
2025. He was the oldest of three sons born to Leon Ashley Wheeler and Velma Fern Wheeler. He was born in St. Joseph Missouri, and was only 6 months old when he and his family moved to the Silverdale/Bremerton areas. He attended Central Kitsap Schools and enlisted in the Army after High School.
Robert married Mary Louise Cruzan in 1962. They had two children, Angela Marie Wheeler and Joseph Guy Wheeler. He worked in the Bremerton Naval Shipyard and retired after 38 years with medals for his leadership and dedication. One of which was for not missing a sick day of work.
In 1989 Robert married Karen Jones and lived at Island Lake until his passing. His passions were restoring old cars and trucks as well as watching sports events. He also enjoyed playing golf. Roberts quick wit and his love of making others laugh was his superpower. His photographic memory will be missed by the family as they depended on him for life's memories and details.

He has 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and one great great grandson as well as many nieces and nephews that will miss him dearly. Through the years we all learned that Robert didn't talk a lot but when he did we listened!
