Ross Emory Berglund, 97 of Bainbridge Island, WA passed away on March 5th, 2011 at the Swedish Hospital, in Seattle, WA after suffering congestive Heart failure. His sons Steven, Daniel and Timothy were at his bedside
He was born October 30th 1913 in Aberdeen, WA to Harry and Anastasia (Nettie) Berglund, both deceased; he attended Aberdeen High School and graduated from Washington State University, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology, in 1941. After college, he worked for the Boeing Airplane Company, as a lead engineer and supervisor for 35 years, retiring in 1976. Ross was a member of the Catholic Church and a Museum Associate, working with invertebrate fossils at the Thomas Burk Museum in Seattle, WA. Surviving are a sister Doris (Bruce) Lakeport, CA; a brother Thomas of Montesano, WA; a sister, Margaret (Ed) of Union, WA; sons are Steven and Daniel of Burien, WA and Timothy of Silverdale, WA; three grandchildren are Jason of Yakima, WA, Michelle (Jon) Snohomish, WA and Jennene (Stephen) of Houston, TX; eight great grandchildren. Private graveside services will be held at Mountain view Cemetery, in Silverdale, WA at a later date.
