Ted Misiewicz, devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2020. He was 95.
Born on June 30, 1925 in Yonkers NY to Martin and Josephine Misiewicz, Ted was baby brother to Vincent, Casper, Jean, Helen, and Millie. Tragically, Martin was killed by a streetcar on a rainy night when Ted was 8 years old, leaving the family nearly penniless. Despite growing up without a father, Ted would become the epitome of a hardworking and loving one after he married the lovely Ann (Chomyak) Misiewicz on September 30, 1956 and welcomed 5 children into their lives. For 40 years, Ted belonged to UAW Local 664, working at General Motors in Tarrytown, NY. He managed to send all his children to college, and escort 4 beautiful brides down the aisle. Ted was a longtime parishioner of St. Casimir Church in Yonkers NY. Proud of his Polish-American heritage, he was a member of the Westchester Pulaski Association and continued his volunteerism with PNA Wavel Lodge #3203 when he and Ann retired to Melbourne FL in 1993. They spent 26 years there, in their lovely home nicknamed the “Polish Arms”—always open to visits from their growing family, especially the grandchildren who were the lights of their lives. Ted was a talented gardener, known for gifting neighbors with gardenias and orchids. Ted and Ann were longtime parishioners of the Church of St. John the Evangelist in Melbourne FL. 
Ted was preceded in death by his wife, Ann. He is survived by five children: Paula (Sciarrino) Vincent (Matthews), Theresa (George), Joan (Rossi), and Julianne (Grenham); and his 7 grandchildren Jenna, Sara, Brice, Michaela, Dan, Max, and Ben. They will all remember his sense of humor, generosity, and steadfast love. 
A funeral Mass will be held at St. Cecilia Parish, Bainbridge Island, WA, with committal next to his beloved wife at Florida Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Rockledge FL.  In lieu of flowers, his family requests you hold your you hold your loved ones close, as Ted did.
