He was born in Quincy Massachusetts and moved to Washington when he was 13 years old. He was in the 1984 class at Bremerton High, and married Lanae George April 19th, 1986.
He worked at Micron Technology for over 10 years. His true passion, however, was school buses. Thom drove a school bus for the South Kitsap School District for 8 years, and then worked as a dispatcher in the SK Transportation office for 6 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Colin and Kathleen Barnes; and brother Chris “Crick” George. He is survived by his wife Lanae George; children Scott George, Christina (Tristan) Francis, and Kaylene (Chris) George; his seven grandchildren; and brother Tim George.
His funeral will take place December 18th at 2:00 PM at Miller Woodlawn with a reception at the Cloverleaf Sports Bar and Grill.
