

Bernell Irene Morton, affectionally known as (Bunny), passed from labor to reward on August 19, 2020, after several years of challenging health issues. She was the daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. Charles S. Green.
She received her education in the Washington DC public school system. Bernell retired from the District of Columbia Schools after 27 years of service as an Administrative Assistant completing her last assignment at McKinley Technology High School.
Bernell was married to the love of her life William Morton for 54 years and they had a loving, caring relationship that was filled with laughter and joy. She had a special place in her heart for her great-niece & nephew, Dr. Keisha Greene-Campbell and Rodney E. Greene, Jr. She enjoyed sewing and spending time in her flower garden. Bernell and William traveled extensively during their marriage until health issues limited their adventures.
Bernell gave her life to Christ at an early age and developed a love for service and for working with God’s people. During her Christian journey, she worked in several Ministries at Beulah Baptist Church; Trustee, Usher, Woman’s Day and served during repasts opportunities whenever needed.
Bernell was the first grandchild born to the Green family.
She lived a peaceful life with her family, her friends and all she met. Bernell displayed a kind and gentle disposition, however, make no mistake, she had no problem telling you what was on her mind!

Travis (Pierre), Hampton, VA, Nephew Morris Gee (Janet), Bedford, OH, Niece Tequia Garrison, Upper Marlboro, MD. Local family members include Niece Deborah, Sally and Nephews, Harrison, Dennis, Earl all of Maryland. She shared a loving relationship with her God-Daughter, Nicole Powell.
