I am sincerely sorry to hear of the loss of Ernest.  He, I and five other men successfully pledged Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. in the Spring of 1976.  He was a very strong line member and an even more decent overall man.  “Pete”, as we called him, helped to strengthen the resolve of all of us that fraternity line.  Over the years, we missed him but never for a moment forgot him.  He will be sorely missed and fondly remembered.  God bless him!

This came as a shock.  It has been a long time, life happens but hearing the news causes all the memories to rush in like yesterday. Ernest was a beautiful, kind soul. I remember him as a proud father and husband. How he lit up with every mention of his best friend and wife. His smile was gentle and comforting. One thing was for sure, his family was his life. All I remember was there was NO place he would rather be than home. What Kari and Ernest had together was what I’ve dreamed of having all my life. Kari, Ernest may be gone from this life but he is waiting for you in the next. Now he and your daughter can skip around heaven riding roller coasters and sharing time together.. I love you my sister and have you in my prayers. This time will not be easy at all, try to surround yourself with the people who love you the most and know Ernest is still with you in spirit. His love for you will never die it lives on in your heart! I’m hear for you my Sista! Be Blessed…

Pete, Earnest's endeared name, was a good man. He was funny and a good story-teller.  A gentleman.  We had fun in Jamaica on a family trip, I found he was adventurous too.  I saw then, and many times, how he loved and cared for his be-loved wife, Kari,  and he just seemed to want to share with the world about his love.
