

Eugene Freddie Hawkins was a resident of Washington, DC, and was born on April 17, 1946, and the oldest of two sons to the late Mary E. Hawkins and Freddie Simpson.
Eugene received his education in Washington, DC, public school, and received an Associate Degree from Montgomery Community College. He was employed at United Planning Organization in 1964 to 1974. He further his career in 1974 at the University of the District of Columbia(UDC) as Jr Programmer and retired from UDC as a Senior Programming Analyst/Application System Analyst in Dec. 30, 2015.
Eugene was known as "LittleGenieHawk or Hawk" to many of his friends. He loved sports and a variety food. He was a football fanatic, a die-hard Redskins’ fan to end. However, his first love of music had a major impact in his life. He was always listening to some type of music when he was making a decision, studying for an exam, designing system, or correcting a program etc. He had a saying ‘Music soothes the savage beast within us.
Eugene leaves to cherish his memories, Warren (son), Juanita (daughter), four granddaughters, (Denise, Kamyah, Naiylah and Nadia) and one grandson (Nigel) and a host of cousins and friends.
