Isaac Castro, 81 years old, beloved father, grandfather and family man passed away on Monday, December 18, 2023, at his home surrounded by his immediate family.
Isaac was born on July 6, 1942, in Cochabamba, Bolivia but grew up in La Paz, Bolivia. He attended Colegio Nacional Bolivar. He loved playing soccer and was part of the second division team of Bolivar Soccer Team. At the young age of 20, Isaac had the opportunity to come to the United States to live a better life. He began working at the Sheraton Park Hotel in Washington, DC, of which he retired after 50+ years of being a banquet waiter. He shortly met his beloved wife Doris and had two daughters. Isaac and his family lived in Kensington, MD where they had a wonderful group of neighbors and friends. Doris preceded Isaac in death on February 22, 1998.
Isaac was an active member at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church where he enjoyed being part of the Fathers group, who volunteered on Pizza Nights as well as the annual Antique Show. Isaac was an avid Washington, D.C. sports fan. He loved the Washington Redskins, Washington Nationals, and the D.C. United professional soccer team. He also enjoyed staying up to date on all the latest news and sports from Bolivia.
Isaac was a very loving person who loved to make people laugh. He knew the right words to say to make a person smile, even if he himself wasn’t feeling well. He had a contagious smile and sense of humor. He always put others first before himself.
Isaac’s beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of his daughters - Anita Morales and Amy Ramirez, son in laws - Arturo Morales and Edwin Ramirez and most importantly his grandchildren – Caitlyn Morales, Edwin Ramirez Jr., Daphne Morales, Gabriela Ramirez, and Allison Morales.
Even though we already miss him dearly, Isaac will always be remembered by his favorite quote “Everything will be okay, just take it easy.”
An evening visitation for Isaac will be held Friday, December 29, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Fort Lincoln Funeral Home & Cemetery, 3401 Bladensburg Rd, Brentwood, Maryland 20722. A funeral service will occur Saturday, December 30, 2023 at 11:30 AM at Holy Redeemer, 9705 Summit Avenue, Kensington, Maryland 20895. A burial will occur Saturday, December 30, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Parklawn Memorial Park and Menorah Gardens, 12800 Veirs Mill Road, Rockville, Maryland 20853.
