James Berry, Jr entered eternal rest on Monday, April 26, 2021 at Washington Hospital Center. James was born September 15, 1947 in Troy, Alabama to the late James Berry, Sr. and Annie B Jackson. He was the first of ten siblings.
James, affectionately known as “Junior” by family and close friends was and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. He attended Cincinnati Public Schools and graduated from Courter Technical High School in 1966. James was also in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged in 1970 after receiving a bronze star. He also worked and retired from the Washington Metropolitan Police Department from 1971 to 1991. After retiring from the police department, he was the founder and owner of B&B Security and Blackhawk Security.
James is the father of 5 children: Ricky Berry, Michael Berry (deceased), Monte Brown, Justin Robinson and Jamar Berry. James was also married to Carol L. Williams (deceased) from 1970 to 1988.
James had a very generous heart and would help anyone, especially, his family, and would give them his last.
He leaves behind three grandchildren, Chantelle, Richelle and Monique Berry, six brothers, Jarvis (deceased), Charles (deceased), Craig, Anthony, Thomas (deceased) and Ronnie Berry, three sisters, Ann Cosby, Donna Cobb and Catherine Berry and a host of cousins, Aunts, Uncles, nieces and nephews in Cincinnati, Ohio
