Joseph Purnell Jackson

Homegoing service for Joseph Purnell Jackson, born January 18, 1936 until December 2, 2021, he was 85 years old. Joseph is survived by is his wife Christine Gregory Jackson, his brother Adrian Hamlin. Joseph has four sons and a daughter, Joseph Jackson Jr., Calvin Jackson, Tammy Jackson, Daryl Jackson and Dwayne Jackson. He was proceeded in death by his eldest daughter Terry Jackson and Brother James Jackson and mother Nannie Hamlin. Joseph has six grandchildren, Tierra Jackson Butler, Dwayne Jackson Jr., Tyron Jackson, Anton Jackson, Dante Jackson, Caden Jackson and four great grandchildren.

Joseph Jackson was educated in DC Public School, he attend Kelly Miller Elementary school and Phelps High School he graduate in 1954. Joseph worked at National Institute of Health for 38 years where he retired in 1996. He was known by his sons as Purnell the provider. Purnell's, favorite was baseball which he played as a child and earn a scholarship to North Carolina AT&T, his favorite singer is OC Smith.
