

age 47, died on Friday, August 21, 2020, at Sibley Memorial Hospital. He was born on August 3, 1973, and was the first son of Olivia Allen and Joseph Reid. Joseph is preceded in death by his parents, grandfather, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Born, raised, and educated in Washington D.C., he overcame his humble beginnings through determination, persistence, and a strong work ethic. Joseph began his stellar career with the Washington Metropolitan Transit Agency in 2004, serving as bus operator then train operator. In 2012, he joined the Control Center as a Central Control Supervisor and was promoted to Assistant Superintendent at the Rail Operations Control Center in March of 2018. Joseph was an avid angler with a voracious appetite for fishing and boating. An ardent sports enthusiast, he was devoted to his beloved Washington football team. His first love, however, was his family.
He is survived by his wife Michelle Reid; children, Chloe’ Reid, Jonee’ and Delrico Washington; grandchildren, Chase Walker and Masion Edgerton; Grandmother, Mary Allen; siblings, LaWanda Kearney, Julia (Richard) Caldwell, Lena Allen, Linwood Allen, Bernard Allen; and numerous extended family, friends, and colleagues.
