On July 13, 2024, Joseph Samuel Wallace Jr. (Joe) was called home to be with the Lord.
Joe was the son of the late Joseph and Edna Wallace. Joe was born in Washington DC and attended DC public schools he graduated from Armstrong Senior Hight School and at an early age joined Mt. Olive Baptist Church, he also attended New Beginnings Church of God Prophecy in Lanham Maryland where he served as an associate member.
Joe was full of fun; he enjoyed the finer things in life. Joe also served in the Vietnam War and he loved football, his favorite team was the Washington Commanders formally known as the Washington Redskins.
Joe worked for Safeway at their warehouse location for 32 years before retiring, he enjoyed retirement and made the best of it.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Edna Wallace, his wife Sandra Wallace, his brother, Larry Holt Wallace and Bernard Wallace, his sister Lelia Greenwood and devoted friend Shirley Burrell. Joe leaves behind to mourn his only sister Mary Allen, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends whom he truly loved.
