Mary Elizabeth Ryan

Mary Elizabeth Ryan, age 95 of Bowie Md. passed away Tuesday afternoon May 16, 2023 at home. She was born November 24, 1927 in Taylorville Il. The daughter of James Oren and Eva Marie Tankersley. She was married to Robert F. Ryan of Supulpa Ok. Who preceded her in death on Jan 18, 1998. Besides her husband, her Brother Oren Tankersley and sister Mildred (Tankersley) Constant precede her in death. She is survived by her brother Bill Tankersley, her daughters Charlene (Ryan) Pratt and Carol Ryan. Her sons Robert and Mark. Her grand children Bryce Pratt, Andrea (Pratt) Frank,Jared Pratt, Cliff Tupaj, Ryan Tupaj. Her great grand children Ben Pratt, Andrew Pratt, Brayden Pratt, Nick Tupaj, Cooper Tupaj.

Mary was a Mother first and was always there for her children, grandchildren and friends. She was very good at providing encouragement and comfort during stressful and difficult times. She was a Christian who read the bible every day and enjoyed attending church each Sunday with televangelist Dr. Charles Stanley. She enjoyed cooking and preparing dinners for all family members around the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, or anytime. She enjoyed swimming and was quite good when in her prime. She enjoyed sewing and creating presents for the grandchildren. Especially in their younger years. While the children were growing up Mom worked as a cook at the local Elementary school. (To keep an eye on her younger two). She also worked in the U.S Post Office located in Bowie Md.
