

Michaelangelo Tucker was born on December 18, 1952, in Washington, DC. He was the second eldest child of four children of the late Tommy Lee Tucker, Sr., and Sadie Mae Tucker. On January 13, 2023, Michaelangelo transitioned peacefully into eternal life.
Affectionately known as Michael, during his adolescence, he was educated through the DC Public School System and attended Anacostia High School in Washington, DC. At an early age, Michael accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He would later join and worship at The First Baptist Church of Marshall Heights under the pastorship of Reverend Lehman D. Bates.
As a young adult, Michael was very active in a healthy lifestyle and fitness. He enjoyed biking, playing tennis, basketball, and all outdoor sports. He also enjoyed taking photos, listening to music and had a robust collection of albums ranging from jazz, blues, and soul music.
In the 1970’s, he attended Cosmetology School where he was trained as a professional barber and hair stylist. In 1979, he married Irma Cassimere Tucker at The First Baptist Church of Marshall Heights and had two children from that union.
During the 1980’s, he worked in many Hair Salons to include: Mr. Natural Hair Salon and Shelton’s Hair Gallery. Later, he established his own entrepreneurship and business, Gifted Hands. In addition to his career as a barber and hairstylist, he also worked for several schools as a Custodian in the DC Public School System and at St. Francis DeSales Catholic School. He loved working with children and imparted wisdom, tenacity, and the importance of education.
In 1995, Michael joined Union Temple Baptist Church under the pastorship of Reverend Willie F. Wilson. Michael was a faithful servant of the Lord and was a student of “The Word”, frequently participating in weekly Bible Study.
During his later years, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. They brought much joy and fulfillment to him while greeting them with a smile! He was an avid card player, loved watching movies with his family and helping others. He was an avid Washington Redskin/Commanders Fan and a poor sport when his team lost.
Michael is survived by his devoted wife of 43 years, Irma Cassimere-Tucker; two children, Rashard (Monica) and Cierra; brother, William Tucker; and a host nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends to cherish his forever memories. Michael is preceded in death by his parents Sadie Mae Tucker and Tommy Lee Tucker Sr.; his brother, Tommy Lee Tucker Jr; and sister, Tijuana Tucker.
