Rose Carolyn Cherry, age 94, beloved spouse of Leonard W. Cherry Sr., who preceded her to eternal life; dear mother of Leonard W. Cherry, Jr, Beverly A. Cherry, Kurt Roger Cherry(Alessandra Moliterno), Val C. Cherry(Donna Kornegay); dear stepmother to Tommi Dean Morgan, Cassandra Menoken, Kelly Sims, and Geoffrey Streater; loving grandmother of Jevon, Spencer, Devin, Jasmine, Breanna, Chiara, Giacomo Cherry, Alex Birns, Miles Sims, (Kelly's son), Marshall D., Nadina, Jineene Morgan, and loving great grandmother of Lincoln, Kennedy, Ayden, Armani Cherry, Shakari and Kenya Morgan.

An Alabama girl, military spouse, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, mother in law, educator, serial entrepreneur, very accomplished soprano singer. She did her duty to the nation stationed across the world as the partner of her husband, Staff Sergeant Leonard W. Cherry, and will soon join him at Arlington National Cemetery.

She shared her abundant love with her family and friends. She was a fierce advocate for children, not just her own. She followed the word of Jesus Christ, lived by faith(1 Peter 1:8), not by sight. Rose went home to live her eternal life she knew existed and so richly deserved, on Labor Day. May she rest in peace in the outstretched arms of the Lord.

A visitation for Rose will be held Monday, September 30, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Peace Lutheran Church, 4929 Ames Street NE, Washington, DC 20019, followed by a funeral service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Interment at Arlington National Cemetery will take place on November 25, 2024 at 2 PM.
