I miss you so much. I will love you always. You were my sister, mentor, psychiatrist, financial planner, stepping partner and friend. Ruby, a precious gem on loan to me and now that gem 💎  is back in God’s hand.

Ruby, can you tell me how many steps to get to heaven?

Momma Peters is what a lot of the staff called her. When you met Ruby, it was everlasting. I remember one day when a co-worker was running into the building (she might say speed walking, but I know what I saw, running) and a couple of us were at the front desk. And she stopped and said “It a bunch of armed guys are out front and getting ready to enter the building. I looked at her and said “girl, stop playing”.  Before I could say anything else, they were coming through the door. Now, Ruby had just finished warming up her breakfast. I figured I would try speed walking(not running like my co-worker) to her office and said “Ruby, a bunch guys just ran up in the building with guns. She said, “boy stop playing”. Before she could taste that boiled egg that she just took her time peeling. They were in her office. She looked at them and still took a bite into her egg and asked can I help you. They said we need to get access one your tenants’ suite. She asked you got a warrant? They said this is a matter of national security.  I was wondering if she was seeing what I saw. Guys with rifles and handguns. She looked at me and said can you go upstairs with them. I said why I got to go. She gave me the mother’s side eye and said don’t play with me.

Ms. Ruby Peters was a good friend, teacher and a very kind-hearted woman who will be missed and always remembered.

Ruby, my wife of 38 years. A loving and devoted mother, dependable, super organized, fiscally responsible, could stretch a dollar, held no cut card. She was “a rare jewel” She will truly be missed.

Not a specific memory but I know everytime I come visit and see aunt Ruby, she was in a good mood and always asked about me and my mother. Always allowing the family to have event/holiday dinners at their house and just the laughs we all shared. She will be truly missed bt always celebrated. 

 Ruby was my daughter-in-law.   Not all daughters-in-law are created equal.  Ruby was special and we enjoyed a special relationship.  I loved and respected her because she was  real - never phony.  In silence, she did many acts of kindness towards me and I shall miss her greatly.

I’m going to miss giving you such a difficult time about parking my car in the wrong spot when we were at AAUW. I know I gave you many headaches back then. I miss you, but know you’re at peace. God bless you. 

I would like to send my condolences to Ruby's family.  I met Ruby at AAUW and she was like a mom to some of us.  If Ruby saw us doing something, she would give the look and that undercover smile. Ruby was so proud of her daughters and their accomplishments.

Ruby, you will be missed, but R.I.H. and continue to watch over your family.

My condolences to the entire family of Ruby Peters. She was one of the good ones. When I expected judgment, there was none; she disagreed with me, but she not only embraced, but actively looked out for me. I used to kid her, she was my mom, IF she had a child at 13 years old. She made it clear to me, she didn't know anything about that, at 13 years old. 🤗 Ruby, was also responsible for some of my weight gain. She baked those cookies for her church sales, and I had no discipline, with the leftovers....

She loved her family,  and loved her visits, to see her mom. She was sooooooo proud of her daughters!!! She was especially proud, of getting them, through undergraduate - with no debt. She gloated that me (while proudly showing me, just how she did it), and she was in all rights, to do so.  She did them well; they did her well - in return. 

My biggest issue with Ruby, is she didn't share my love of El Pollo Rico. C'mon Ruby, you missed some delicious chicken.

To The Peters Family, please accept my condolences on the loss of your dear loved one Ruby Peters. Ruby and I are members of the same church, UWAMEZ Church, and we shared a sister like smile and greeting when we saw each other on Sunday mornings at church. Sis Ruby was my Sister and Friend in Christ and I will miss from seeing her smiling face. She once told me people thought we were sisters cause we look  alike. I told her that's ok because we are sisters. Family know, that God will provide you w/strength comfort and peace. Know that our loved ones will live forever in our hearts and mind. Stanley, Deidre and Brittney we are lifting you and all the Coleman family in prayer! Ruby's joy and love for each of you,  all of her family and the Lord was so evident! Her love will live on in each of you! Continued prayers and love from all the Glace's (Bob says we are all Colemans! ) 

First and foremost my Condolences to Ruby's family.  I am so sorry for your lost. May God wrap you all in his arms and be with you .  I met Ruby about 10 years ago and she inspired me to do better things with my life.  

She always talked about her girls with so much love in her heart.  I was excited when I met them.  Ruby had a way of making me feel that everything would be Ok no matter what.

I use to look forward to her text messages on certain days of my life. I will truly miss that.  Ruby was there in my time of need when I lost my sister. Ruby you will always be remembered in my heart.  I will think  of something you said or we discussed and it will put a smile on my face.

Stanley, Words are not sufficient to express my sorrow or to relieve the pain of your loss.  I pray that God will soon send you that Holy Ghost Comfort, and that memories of joyful times will fill the empty places .  I am surprised, and a bit ashamed, that in all of these years,  sharing your achievements through conversations at work,  I never got to meet your wife.  I can see that she is special and that I missed a wonderful opportunity.  May she rest in peace with God, and may her memory be a blessing that is seen in her children every day.  


I send my heartfelt condolences to the family of Ruby Peters and may God comfort you during this time. Ruby was my long-term colleague at AAUW for a dozen years who I will always remember for her steady presence, dry sense of humor and dedication to her job. We were both raising daughters and she was always so proud of her twins, who I got to meet on many occasions.  We spoke of work, our daughters, life in general and somehow always ended up laughing at something. I could do a great imitation of her that would crack her up. She didn't take herself too seriously but you could count on her to make sure that things were done right. When she retired it really was the end of an era, and her presence is still missed. I pray that  memories of her will continue to comfort her family and that you know she was appreciated by so many.

Prayers and condolences to all who loved Ruby! Ruby and I met at AAUW and I considered her to be the foundation of that organization-- she took care of the building, and more importantly, she took care of the people first and foremost. We worked hard and we played harder and we enjoyed our annual staff recognition events even more. 
Ruby, thank you for all the knowledge, compassion, humor, food, and love; we'll carry a piece of you in our hearts always!💜💜

We are so sorry to hear about Ruby, she will definitely be missed.  She was not just the Vice President of Administrative Services at AAUW, and my boss but a true friend, a great teacher and mentor.
 I remember the day she hired me and the next week she was shaking her head wondering what she had gotten herself into. This turned into more than a 23 year work relationship but a friendship that lasted 26 years.  I got to know each of you through her love for her family as she talked about your milestones and celebrated your successes.  She loved you all so much and it was this love that we became a part of her work family.
May GOD be with you all during this time, you may weep but remember the good times and the love she had for all of you.  Please know we are here for you and a part of your extended family.

To Ruby's beloved family:

Ruby and I met in 1983 when I first came to AAUW.  She hired me.  We would reunite in 2004 when I returned there and enjoyed engaging each other every day since.  I'll miss the laughs, the assignments she gave me (your grandmother's yellow wrap and hat for her 80th), left overs from the dessert table from Sundays, and the pecans, some of which I still have in my freezer.  And yes, the tee shirt she has that says "Stop, Call Ed".  

I'm thankful to God for people like Ruby who teach you things, even when they don't know it.  She was deciplined, kind and thoughtful.  And so proud of her family.  

She told me her dad would say, don't shame me.  Well Ruby, my friend, I think you made your dad very proud.
