When I transferred to FAA Headquarters in Washington, D.C September, from Atlanta I was introduced to Bill Broadwater and later learned of his career history as a Tuskegee Airman and the progression of his career with the FAA. He was respected throughout the Agency and Department (DOT) by superiors as well as subordinates.  I regret that our area of responsibility and function precluded me from getting to know him better.  subordinates. 

To his wife, children and other family members and friend, I share your loss and it is our prayer that out Creator will keep you in His care.

"Uncle Bill" was one of my favorite neighbors and about the best friend that I've had in my life.  We who loved him in Washington DC will miss the stories he told us about his early days with the Tuskegee airmen, as well as his joyfully boasting about his two grandchildren.  When I last saw Uncle Bill nearly 15 years ago, one of the first things he told me was that his grandson had zoomed way past him in height.  He said it with such love and pride, as he always did when referring to you, his grandson, and granddaughter.

Bill was one of my early training instructor at the long forgotten NYARTCC experimental radar facilities located at Mitchell Field, L.I.(circa 1955/56) Bill was a gentleman and a pleasure to know. He'll be missed.

I MET Bill in the NYRTCC and it was my pleasure to know and work with him..From one AF veteran and AFA member, Bill will always be a fine Gentleman and never out of mind..God speed..

A brave gentleman and a fellow controller, he will be missed.

Please accept my heartfelt condolences.   I first met Bill during my first FAA Headquarters Assignment in 1976.  Bill went out of his way to provide great council and advice during all of the years I knew him.  He was one of the first in many of the positions he occupied and was the consummate professional.  I'm proud to say I knew him, and will be forever grateful and thankful for his guiding hand.

I came to know your dad through my niece, Dr. Dorothy Phaire. As you're aware, she is writing a book about his exceptional life and accomplishments.
