

Henry H. Hoffmann, Jr., 78, of Scottsbluff, died early Saturday, December 17th 2005 at the Western Nebraska Veteran’s Home in Scottsbluff. Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, December 20th, 2005 at Bridgeport Memorial Chapel with Scott Melvin officiating. Henry was born in Three Oaks, MI on May 26, 1927 to Henry C. and Blanche (Wesley) Hoffmann. After spending his early years in Chicago, IL, He grew to adult hood on a farm south of Brush, CO. He was drafted into the Army in 1945 and was in the US Army of the Occupation in Korea until his honorable discharge. He worked in highway construction in Colorado for many years then farmed. He came to Nebraska in 1976, worked in farming until his retirement and was an active member of the Broadwater Post 312 of the American Legion. Since 2002, he has enjoyed living in the Western Nebraska Veteran’s Home. Henry is survived by his brothers John Hoffmann of Denver, CO, Conrad (Pat) Hoffmann of Van Buren, AK; sisters Blanche (Dale) Melvin of rural Bridgeport, and Margaret (Roger) Emnett of Findlay, OH; also by numerous nieces and nephews and special niece Sarah Melvin and special nephew Eric Melvin. His parents and sister-in-law Trudy Hoffmann preceded him in death.
