Sandra Cynthia (Reed) Lundy

Her body will be laid to rest on Friday, June 22, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Oregon Trail Memorial Cemetery in Bridgeport until the Resurrection at Jesus’s Coming (I Thessalonians 4:16-18). Visitation will be Thursday from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Bridgeport Memorial Chapel.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Darren Patterson Christian Academy or The People’s Gospel Hour.

Sandra was born at home in Scottsbluff on April 16, 1938 and was the youngest of Edna Elizabeth (Nordell) and Robert Elee Reed.

She began her primary education at Long Fellow School in Scottsbluff, followed by attending school in Napa, Idaho and Grant, Nebraska.  In 1959, she obtained her nursing degree from West Nebraska Methodist School of Nursing in Scottsbluff. Sandra worked at the Bridgeport Hospital for 52 years as a surgical nurse.  Throughout her life, she was an ardent student of the scripture. She taught Sunday School, vacation Bible school and participated in the ministry of Camp Rock through the American Sunday School Union. In addition, she was involved with the outreach of Child Evangelism Fellowship and the Gideon Auxiliary. 

Sandra was united in marriage to Ronald Lundy onOctober 30, 1959 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska.

Sandra was preceded in death by her mother and father, two sisters, Avis Roberta Quinn and Evangeline Ruth Sanders.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Ronald Joseph Lundy; their children Amber Ralee, Aron Floren and wife Angela, and Wyne Grace; three grandchildren: Kate, Royal and Reed; her brother Keith Morris Reed and wife Margie Lou; brothers and sisters-in-law and hosts of friends.
