
Adele Grace Mancuso Perrotta died on Saturday, October 8, 2011, at Stamford Hospital. Born in the Bronx on November 22, 1921 to Anthony and Lucy Mancuso, she graduated from Hunter College and taught for many years at St. Clare of Assisi School in the Bronx, from where she retired. She was most proud of having been recognized several times by former students as the teacher who had the most influence on their education. She lived in the Bronx until one year ago when she moved to Stamford to be closer to her family. She loved to travel, having been to Egypt, Europe and Hawaii. She married Salvatore (Red) Perrotta in 1943 just before he entered the Army during World War II.
Mrs. Perrotta is survived by her three sons, John (Jackie), Richard (MaryLynn) and Ron (Ileana), a sister, Mollie Palumbo, eight grandchildren, Matthew, Steven, David, Todd, Craig, Tara (Goodfellow), Kimberly, and Veronica Perrotta. She is also survived by five great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Salvatore, sisters Marie Romaniello and Ann Zecca and her brother Fred Mancuso.
Friends may call at John Dormi & Sons Funeral Home, 1121 Morris Park Avenue, Bronx, NY on Tuesday, October 11, from 2:00-4:00 and from 7:00-9:00. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 12, at 9:45 a.m. at St. Clare of Assisi Church, 1918 Paulding Ave., Bronx, NY. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Clare of Assisi School, 1911 Hone Ave., Bronx, NY 10461.
