Laverne Grace Campbell-Ransom

From an early age, La Verne carried herself with a quiet strength and gentle grace that touched everyone she knew. Soft-spoken yet unshakably resilient, she was the kind of woman who led with compassion, met life's challenges with dignity, and taught those around her the power of perseverance.

She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter, sister, cousin, niece, aunt, mother-in-law and dear friend. Someone who gave freely her time, love, and wisdom. Her presence was calm, her laughter warm, and her love unconditional.

Her legacy lives on through her family and all whose lives she touched with her steady, caring spirit. Her strength was in her softness, her voice was calm but carried wisdom, and her love will echo through generations.

La Verne was proceeded in death by her father William Campbell, her brother Floyd Campbell; She leaves behind to cherish her memory her mother Etta Thomas; Her children: Sunshine Johnson, Jon Johnson (Amy Johnson), Marvin Hampton (Sheila Hampton), Jimmie Johnson, Nickolis Gill, Great niece Promise Campbell; Brothers: Steven Campbell, Fredrick J. Crawford, William C. Campbell; Sisters: Catherine Campbell, Jennifer Jones, and Charity Green; Her live in grandsons: Malachi & Prophet Johnson; Granddaughters: Heaven Johnson, Jimea Johnson, Emani Hampton, Zoe Hampton, Joi Hampton; Grandson: Kameron Hampton; Great Granddaughter Ryleigh Hampton; Her life partner Jayce Coleman; and a loving host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends like Geneva Saegar & God I Ss Blossom (M.C.).

La Verne enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking delicious meals, having good long conversations, traveling to Jamaica, and watching her Green Bay Packers. She attended Washington High School and drove school bus for Riteway.

La Verne always seemed to know the right thing to say at the right time to the right person. She had an undeniable intuition. For those lucky enough to share space with La Verne, they received a wealth of love, kindness, and wisdom.
