Allen Edward Post

Allen Edward Post, of Wellesley, formerly of Wayland and Andover, on October 5, 2025 at age 79.

For 41 years, dearly beloved husband of Diane Post; loving brother of Barbara; cherished uncle of Joni, Rebecca, David and Margie; adored great uncle of Jared and Maddie, and devoted cousin of Janice; Son of the late Morris and Eleanor Post.

Allen was an active class of 1966 MIT alum, having received a BS and MS in electrical engineering, followed by an MBA from BU in 1974. At retirement, the MITRE corporation honored him for 45 years of dedicated service. He enjoyed playing bridge, reading, arts & culture, international travel, and brought wisdom and generosity to the many cousins and friends who loved him. He was known not only for his sharp mind and deep sense of fairness but also for his philanthropic support to dozens of progressive causes such as ACLU, World Central Kitchen, and MIT.

Graveside service at Beit Olam Cemetery, 61 Old Sudbury Rd., Wayland on Thursday, October 9 at 10:00 AM and will be livestreamed at https://www.levinelive.com/allenpost .

Following the service, memorial observance will be at his friends’ residence through 8:00PM.
