

Amy Judith Tananbaum, (1959-2024) of Belmont, died on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, surrounded by her family. Loving mother of Rebecca Tananbaum and Noah Tananbaum & his wife Miriam Seldin-Stein. Beloved sister of Susan Tananbaum & her husband Joseph Frazer.
She received a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania, where she was the first female president of The Kite and Key Society, the university’s prestigious social service organization. She received a Thouron Award to study in England, where she completed an M.Sc. at the London School of Economics. Amy later earned an MBA from Boston University.
She began her career at the Forum Corporation, where she worked for 10 years before starting her own company. She founded Results by Design and provided coaching and consulting services across the globe for nearly thirty years.
Amy devoted countless hours to the Jewish community and especially at Beth El Temple Center. In 2020, her deep commitment to social justice led her to launch Teen JUST-US Boston, a summer internship program that exposed 11th and 12th graders to social and political issues through a Jewish lens.
Amy was passionate, quick-witted, and would do anything for those she loved. She was a steadfast colleague and an unwavering mentor to many. She loved tending her garden, traveling, quilting, and attending theater.
A memorial service will be held at Beth El Temple Center, 2 Concord Ave., Belmont, MA, 02478 on Sunday, September 22 at 3:00pm. Shiva will take place on Monday September 23 and Tuesday September 24 at her home from 7-9:00pm.
