

Arthur Bennett Cicero, age 81, of Lexington, at home, surrounded by his loving family after a long illness on Tuesday, March 6, 2012. Arthur was born September 26, 1930 in Bronx New York. He was the beloved husband of the late Marilyn (Kass) Cicero and cherished son of the late Tom and Sally (Smilon) Cicero.
Arthur was a graduate of MIT where he received a Bachelor’s of Science and a Master’s Science in Engineering. He also received a Master’s of Science in Physics and Mathematics from Northeastern University.
Arthur was a founder of American Science and Engineering along with fellow MIT graduates. He spent the rest of his career working at United Engineers and Raytheon. He had a high security clearance and worked in the missiles system development. He and his family spent time living in Hawaii in the early 1960’s when he worked on nuclear testing at Johnston Island in the South Pacific. Looking back over his professional career, he preferred working as a physicist versus an engineer.
Arthur was a member of Temple Isaiah for over 50 years. After his retirement, he volunteered in the Temple Library. Arthur was also a computer programmer for Colpitts Travel his wife Marilyn’s business in Lexington Center.
When he was younger he was an avid golfer and birdwatcher. He enjoyed taking his grandchildren fishing, to parks and out to dinner. Arthur was present at all their soccer, baseball, swimming, dancing and school events. His grandchildren were his joy. He was also happy to be blessed with three great grandchildren.
He was a devoted father, grandfather and great grandfather. Arthur is survived by his daughter Lori Boelig & her husband Ray, his daughter Lois Woodbury & her husband Jack. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren and their spouses: Sarah Castagno, Joshua Woodbury & his wife Fallon, Matthew Boelig & his wife Rupsa, Kayla Burke & her husband Kyle, Derek Boelig, Kimberly Martins & her husband Alvaro,and Michael Woodbury. He is further survived by his beloved great grandchildren, Myrabella Patrice Castagno, Shay Adam Woodbury and Cameron Bennett Woodbury.
Funeral Services will be held at Temple Isaiah, 55 Lincoln St., Lexington on Thursday March 8, 2012 at 11:30 am. Burial to follow at Westview Cemetery in Lexington. Following burial memorial observance will be at the home of Lois & Jack Woodbury until 5:00 pm and 7-9 pm and on Sunday evening at the home of Lori & Ray Boelig from 7-9 pm.
