

It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of Ava Elaine Charne, 70, of Albany, NY, who peacefully passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2024. Ava lived a full and beautiful life, touching the hearts of all who knew her with her kindness, warmth, and infectious smile. She made meaningful connections wherever she went and leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and inspiration.
Ava is survived by her baby daddy and soulmate, Vinny Avellino, her two daughters, Tina Ponce and Robyn Isman, her sons-in-law, Dave Isman and Rob Ponce, her siblings and siblings in-law, Allen Charne, Fonda Charne, Ted Brown, Rosemary Ragule, and Diane Avellino as well as her beloved grandchildren, Hazel, Rafi, and Levi Isman, and Liza Ponce, who brought her endless joy. Ava is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members who adored her and will deeply miss her presence.
To commemorate her incredible journey and to celebrate the love and joy she spread, a memorial service will be held in her honor at Temple Emanuel, 385 Ward St., Newton on Friday, November 29 at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Temple Emanuel Memorial Park, 497 North St., Randolph. We invite all who knew Ava to join us in remembering a truly kind, down-to-earth, genuine, and inspiring woman.
Shiva will be at the home of Robyn & Dave Isman beginning on Saturday from 5:30pm-8pm and continuing Sunday from 4pm-8pm and Monday from 6pm-8pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Ava’s memory to To Life (www.tolife.org), an organization close to our hearts, which provides breast cancer support and women's health education in the Capital Region.
Ava’s spirit will live on in the lives of those she touched. She will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
