

Beatrice Goodfader passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 4, 2023. She grew up in Chelsea and was the middle daughter of Annie and Hyman Goldstein. She was pre-deceased by her sisters Rose and Sally. She resided most of her life in Brighton where she brought up her family. Before her marriage she worked at the Chelsea Naval Yard, helping out during World War 2. In 1947 she married the love of her life, Leon Goldstein, a World War 2 veteran and Bronze star recipient in the Pacific Theater. Leon was a long time employee of the city of Boston until his passing in 1969. Together they had 5 children; Judi Rapaport and her husband Murray, Sandra Goldstein who passed away in 2013 and lived most of her life at The Paul A. Dever State School in Taunton, Allan Goldstein and his wife Diane from Wakefield, Rabbi Simcha Goldstein and his wife Betsy from Coral Springs, Florida, and Dena Aharoni, who passed away in 2020. She leaves 11 grandchildren, Lori Morrison and David Rapaport; Naomi Goldstein (passed away in 2013), Noah Goldstein, Nadia Davis; Rena Goldstein, Aliza Blohov, Ari Goldstein, Ilana Miller; and Moshe and Yehuda Aharoni. She leaves 9 great grandchildren, Avery and Jack, Riley and Lilly, Ezra, Noah, Hailey, Ava and Liam, and Yoav, Liat and Yotam. She married again to Ed Goodfader who passed away in 2004 and leaves 3 step grandchildren, Julie, Robin and Scott and 2 step great grandchildren, Joelle and Sophia. She was a bookkeeper, a seamstress and an avid reader often reading a book a day. She also loved to knit, crochet and paint.

A Graveside Service will be held in the Beth El Cemetery, 776 Baker St. West Roxbury on Sunday, January 8th at 2PM.
Shiva will be observed at respective homes of Judi (4 to 7pm on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday), and Allan and Simcha through the week. Please wear masks when visiting the Shiva homes.
