

Beloved and cherished husband and soul mate of his wife of 29 years, Dr. Barbara A. Ducey.
One of the lights of his late parents’ lives, Frank and Emily Ducey.
Devoted and loving father of Jessica Akers of Swansea, MA, Michael Ducey of Dedham, MA, and Joanna Ducey of N. Myrtle Beach, SC. Also survived by his four small grandchildren and his beloved brother Mitchell Ducey, Esq. Predeceased by Eli Ducey, adored fur son of Barbara and Charles.
Dr. Ducey was a gifted and highly admired professional, a fellow of the American Academy of Clinical Psychology and diplomate in Clinical Psychology, ABPP. He was associated with Harvard University for nearly 40 years, the Director of Psychology and Training in Clinical Psychology at Cambridge Hospital and the Director of Harvard’s counseling center, the Bureau of Study Counsel. He deeply touched and transformed the lives of his countless students, supervisees, and patients. Dr. Ducey authored a number of original reports and book and encyclopedia chapters. He was an expert on the Rorschach, in cross cultural psychiatry, and in psychoanalytic and psychodynamic theories. He was also a Latin and Greek scholar.
Dr. Ducey will be remembered for his kindness, exuberant spirit, unusual generosity, extraordinary intellect, and beautiful smile. He loved his family, his “work”, the ocean, music, and learning.
Dr. Ducey will be profoundly missed by many but especially by his devoted wife Barbara, with whom he shared a great love. Love, “…I love thee with the breath, smiles, tears of all my life!—And if God choose, I shall but love thee better after death.” (E.B. Browning).
