Daniel Z. Gould, born in Boston, MA on September 22, 1937, passed away in Boynton Beach, Florida on March 4, 2024. He is survived by his loving wife Janet, sons Peter (and wife Nancy) and David (and partner Maureen Goldin), grandchildren Sam, Morgan, Emily and Margaret, as well as Morgan's fiancé Ben Friedman. He was predeceased by his parents, Louis and Betty Gould.
Dan graduated from Brookline High School and then from Worcester Polytechnic Institute with a B.S. Ch.E in Chemical Engineering. He furthered his education by earning an MBA from Babson College. Dan dedicated his career to engineering at various technology companies and shared his knowledge by teaching Operations Management in the evening program at Northeastern University for over 25 years. Dan spent most of his adult life with his family in Needham, MA.
In 2017 Dan achieved a personal victory by winning the Southport Tier 2 Men's Tennis Championship. He was arguably the biggest Boston Red Sox fan on the planet. He was always keeping a watchful eye on their pitching staff. Dan was passionate about country music – the real country music, like Hank Williams. For over 15 years, Dan spent the first weekend of the NCAA March Madness Tournament in a Las Vegas sports book with family and friends. Dan enjoyed playing guitar, tennis and golf, but his most fierce competition came from the nightly chess games against his beloved wife Janet.
Dan will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dan’s memory to the Hostages and Missing Families Forum. Dan cared deeply about Israel and helping those hurt by the current conflict and war. https://stories.bringthemhomenow.net/donate
