

David M. Kaplan, age 89 years, of Boston and Palm Beach passed away on Tuesday, May 27, 2025.
For 56 years, he was the beloved husband of the late Nancy (Mann) Kaplan. He is survived by his loving children, David & Clare, and their daughter Katie and Steven & Suzanne and their daughters Abby and Lily. David was also a devoted uncle to Peter, Amy, Bobby, and Susan. He was the cherished companion of Naomi Alexandroff-Brest. He is predeceased by his son Tommy, his parents Simon & Marion (Rubin) Kaplan and his sister Dorothy “Dottie” Goodman and her husband Jimmy and sister-in-law Babs and her husband Albie.
David was most proud of his children and grandchildren, who brought immense joy and meaning to his life.
He began his career at Kaplan Furniture, the family business, and later co-founded Kaplan and Fox in Boston, extending the family's longstanding tradition in the furniture world. David served passionately on numerous furniture industry boards, and most importantly at Boston Children’s Hospital. Belmont Country Club was a meaningful part of his social life, where he remained a lifelong and devoted member. His love of travel took him around the globe, where he enjoyed great food, time with family and friends, new cultures, and rounds of golf in memorable places. David will be deeply missed by his loving family and the many friends whose lives he touched.

Following the burial, the family will receive visitors at the Belmont Country Club, 181 Winter St., Belmont, 02478 through 8pm.
