Debra (Wolfson) Squires

Debra (Wolfson) Squires, age 58, of West Roxbury, formerly Newton, on May 20, 2023.

Beloved wife of Jim. Loving mother of Sam. Devoted daughter of Rita Wolfson and the late Bernie Wolfson. Cherished sister of Jane Wolfson. Adored aunt to Billy Mitchell, Lauren Spang, Mike Nisbet and Alex Nisbet.

Deb was raised in Newton and graduated from the University of New Hampshire. She cherished her circle of childhood and college friends, along with the close friends she made during her working years and while Sam was in school. Her friends treasured Deb for her generosity, humor, and unique gift for making everyone feel valued and seen.

Deb was a baker extraordinaire. For her, baking was a creative outlet and a vehicle for expressing love to her family and friends and marking milestones. Birthdays will never be the same. Deb also generously gave of her time to many non-profits, including: The Greater Boston Food Bank, Vote Forward, Rosie’s Place, Boston Latin School Library, and the Chestnut Hill School.

Most of all, Deb was devoted to Jim and Sam, the loves of her life. Deb and Jim were college sweethearts at UNH, and their loving partnership thrived for 34 years.

We will be celebrating Deb’s life on Wednesday, May 24 at 1pm at the Levine Chapels, 470 Harvard St., Brookline.
