Earle H. Rosenberg died on September 3, 2016 at the age of 87. Born in Cambridge, he attended Cambridge Latin, Harvard College, and Harvard School of Dental Medicine. He was married for 63 years to Norma (Bernstein) whom he met while both were students at Harvard College. He practiced oral surgery in Boston and Wellesley for over 40 years and, after retirement, continued with his clinical teaching at the Massachusetts General Hospital, where he was a professor of oral surgery for over 55 years.
Besides his wife, he leaves two daughters, Beth Rosenberg of Somerville, and Erica Rosenberg of Washington, DC, son-in-law Daniel Sarewitz and grandson Jonah. He enjoyed tennis (his backhand was a thing of beauty) at Wightman Tennis Center and in Palm Springs where he wintered, playing poker with his cronies, walking with Norma, and visiting the Brookline Public Library and its wonderful staff. Earle was a gentle and generous man who always thought of others before himself. Donations in his memory can be sent to the Brookline Public Library or a charity of one's choice. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at a later date.
