Elinore Myra Chait

Elinore (Ellie) Chait, beloved wife, mother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2025. She was married to the love of her life, Melvin, for 65 wonderful years, and together they built a lifetime filled with love, travel, and happy memories. Sadly, Melvin passed away exactly one week after Ellie passed.

Born in Boston on March 26, 1938, Elinore's life took her from Dorchester to Newton, to Framingham, to winters in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida and summers in Falmouth, where she created a warm and welcoming home in each place.

She is survived by her children Barbara and Alan Klein, and Philip and Tracy Chait; her adoring grandchildren Mitchell, Leanna and Juliette; and her beloved sister Elaine Greenburg. Elinore was also a treasured aunt to Michael, Gail and Donna, and their children and grandchildren. She had many friends and neighbors whom she cherished throughout her life.

Ellie leaves a legacy of love, family, kindness and positivity to all who knew her.

A combined funeral service for Melvin and Elinore Chait will be held on Tuesday October 21, 2025 at 10:30 AM at Stanetsky Memorial Chapel, 1668 Beacon St. Brookline. Shiva will be held on Wednesday 10/22/2025 at Brookdale Cushing Park, 200 W Farm Pond Road, Framingham 12-3 PM.
