IN THE CARE OF
Levine Chapels
Frances Mahler Diamant, born November 12, 1922, died Thursday, January 19, 2023 at Brookhaven at Lexington where she lived for the last 10 years of her life. She was the youngest of the five Mahler siblings brought up in Arverne, NY. Frances, or Dudu, as she was called by her family, was predeceased by her beloved husband, Leo Diamant. Growing up Leo lived across the street from the Mahler family and their “wedding” picture was taken when they were young children, sitting on the stoop together. Later in life she lived in Rosedale, NY to raise her family. Then she and Leo moved to Valley Stream, NY. After Leo died she joined her sister, Blanche Koffler in Chicago. Frances moved to Lexington after her sister passed away.
Frances attended Queens College and majored in Chemistry. She taught science in the NYC public junior high schools, and high schools until her retirement. After retiring, Leo and Frances traveled a great deal, visited their grandchildren regularly and spent time with long time friends.
She was much loved by her children, Lisa Diamant and late husband, Morris, her son, Michael Diamant and wife, Diane. She adored her grandchildren, Julia and wife, Maya, and Sam. Her great granddaughter, Layla Diamant gave her so much joy. She was the fond aunt of many nieces and nephews.
We are so grateful for the care and support that she received at Brookhaven and by Adams Nursing. She always was so positive about the staff and the care that she received.
