Kay, Frederick D., age 91, peacefully passed away at home on Saturday May 13, 2023. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was the eldest child to Abraham and Sylvia Kay, born in New York City in 1931. He grew up in rural upstate New York during the Great Depression and was the first in his family to go to college. After college, he served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a self-made man, moved to Massachusetts and started a successful Real Estate business. Admired for his integrity and community service, he was president of his Rotary chapter, president of Temple Reyim, and active on the Newton Library Committee. He valued family above all else and was adored by his loving family: wife Priscilla Kay; late wife Claire (Betsy) Kay; children Susan Kay, Diane Silverman, Jonathan Kay, Michael Sage, Richard Sage; grandchildren Emily, Rebecca, Isaac, Anabel, Jonah, Josef, Ilana, Dahlia, Avi, Bayla, Kalman; and many great-grandchildren.
Donations in his memory may be made to Temple Reyim of Newton or a charity of your choice.
