

Harriet (Miller) Garber, 80, of Dedham, formerly of Newton, on Thursday, January 28, 2016, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her devoted family, after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Loving wife of 57 years of Harold. Proud mother of Richard & Wendy Garber, Amy & Robert Carp, and Jody & David Flashner. Doting Grammy to Max & Jason Flashner, Melissa & Douglas Carp, and Sam & Sophie Garber. Beloved sister of Alan & Audrey Miller. Caring aunt of Linda Seder, Stephen Miller, and Joanie & Alan Freidman. Harriet had a deep love of family, and a passion for tennis, needle crafts and travel.
Funeral service at Temple Beth Avodah, 45 Puddingstone Lane, Newton Center on Friday, January 29 at 1:30pm with burial to follow at Mishkan Tefila Memorial Park, 2619 Centre St., West Roxbury. Following the burial, the family will receive guests at NewBridge on the Charles Health Center, in the Conservatory at 7000 Great Meadow Road, Dedham, from 4-6pm. The family will also receive guests on Sunday from 1–4pm at Great Meadow Hall in the Community Center at NewBridge on the Charles, 5000 Great Meadow Road, Dedham. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, 02472 or Hebrew SeniorLife, 1200 Centre St., Roslindale, 02131. The family wishes to thank all of the caring and compassionate staff of NewBridge on the Charles for their devoted care of Harriet over the past 7 years.
