third of five children. He graduated from Framingham High School, served in the Navy, and went on to earn an engineering degree from Ohio University. While working for DuPont in Delaware, he met his wife, Vera
Collins. They relocated to Framingham, where he began a career with Raytheon, eventually moving to Rhode Island upon transferring to Raytheon's Portsmouth facility. Jim was a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers, Alpha Masonic Lodge in Framingham, and Temple Shalom in Middletown, Rhode Island. He also served on the board of Child and Family Services of Newport County as well as Newport Hospital.
He was predeceased by his wife and four siblings, and is survived by several nieces and nephews, who remember him with affection. Interment was at Edgell Grove Cemetery in Framingham.
