Judith Beth Marcus passed away on Friday, December 5th, at Briarwood Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center after a long battle with Dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease.
A woman of immense talent, Judie had a lifelong passion for the arts. She explored many mediums, including sculpture, painting, collage, assemblage, and encaustic art. She studied at The New School in NYC as well as with the sculptor Chaim Gross. She was a dedicated member of the Art League of Long Island and frequently participated in their exhibitions.
Judie shared this love of art with her community as the co-owner of Artisan’s Gallery, a craft store in Great Neck, Long Island, which she operated for ten years.
Judie was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Alan Bruce Marcus, in 2020. She will be laid to rest at Beth Moses Cemetery in Farmingdale, New York, alongside her parents and grandmother.
She is survived by her daughter, Debra Marcus Corrado, and son-in-law, Joseph Corrado, of Boston, MA; her son, Robert Steven Marcus, of Portugal; her grandsons, Jeffrey and Gregory; her sister, Marcia Silva, and brother-in-law, Delio Silva, of Florida; and two cherished great-granddaughters.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Judie’s memory can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
