February 21, 1935 - October 5, 2023
Larry Gray of Belmont and formerly of Sudbury passed away suddenly but peacefully on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at the age of 88. He is survived by his partner, Judy Ganz of six years and preceded in death by his wife of forty-nine years, Suzanne Gray. Devoted father to Keith Gray and wife, Diane, Evan Gray and wife, Lauren, Julianna Lessor and husband, Matt, and Nicole Holden and husband, Jeff. Loving Papa to Tori, Kobe, Tyler, Emersyn, Logan, Kimi, Rachel and Erika.
After graduating from Boston University, Larry climbed the corporate ladder to become a top executive at the Kaiser Roth Company in New York before becoming sole proprietor of Gray’s Supermarket in Oak Square, Brighton, Massachusetts. He was able to happily retire at the age of 52. He never looked back and lived his life to the fullest on his terms.
Larry had a tremendous love and adoration for the game of golf. He cherished the times he played with his sons, sons-in-law and friends. But don’t be fooled, he was the toughest negotiator of strokes on the first tee. He was a Life Master in Bridge and continued to play daily until his passing. He loved socializing with his teammates and never passed up an opportunity to play at clubs away from home to meet new members.
He will be missed for his never ending devotion to his family, his guidance and support, his incredible sense of humor and wit, and his boisterous laughter.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice in Larry’s memory.
