Dr. Leonard Solomon

Dr. Leonard “Len” Solomon, Age 87, of Newton on Monday, January 15, 2018. For 63 years, he was the beloved husband of the late Dr. Francine (Meklinsky) Solomon. Loving father of Beth & Jon Olin, Tamah & Steven Rosker and Andrew Solomon. Proud grandfather of Alex & Eric Olin and Arielle & Ilana Rosker. Dear brother of Harold Solomon and the late Jack Solomon. He shared his love of learning and helped countless students over more than four decades as a Professor of Psychology at Boston University and clinical psychologist at Boston University Student Health Services. He was also a psychoanalyst and a member of the Boston Psychoanalytic Institute. A graduate of Brooklyn College, he received his Ph.D. from New York University. He was a Fulbright Scholar. A clarinetist with the Newton Senior Center Band, he loved music, discussing current events, and schmoozing with friends. Services at Temple Emanuel, 385 Ward Street, Newton, on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. Burial at Mohliver Cemetery, 776 Baker Street, West Roxbury. Memorial observance at the home of Tamah & Steven Rosker from 2:30 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
