

Malcolm Green, 95, of Dedham, formerly of Wayland and Newton passed away peacefully on December 13, 2022.
Malcolm was born in Chelsea, MA to Annie & Hyman Green. Malcolm’s love of his life, his wife Susan, predeceased him in March of 2020. Malcolm, was the devoted father of Richard Green & his husband Asi Ohana, Carol van Oosterwijk & her husband Mark Gaeth, and Diane Bailey & her husband Colin. Beloved grandfather of Jonathan, Claire Bailey & fiancé Zach Blaifeder, Drew, Ari van Oosterwijk & fiancé Morgan Colling and Rose Ohana. Dear Brother of Arnold Green & his wife Edith and the late Sidney Green, MD and Diane H. Green. Brother-in-law of Jane Cohen and Nancy Stohn.
Malcolm received his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from MIT in 1950 and his master’s degree in 1951. He majored in Thermodynamics and Aerodynamics. Mal formed his own company, Bytrex in 1958, a company that pioneered the use of semiconductors to make strain gages and transducers. He received five patents relating to strain gage transducers. Malcolm was a very active MIT alumnus. He was president, treasurer, and class agent of the Class of 1950, he and Susan also chaired every reunion from the 45th through the 65th.
Malcolm and Susan moved into NewBridge on the Charles in July of 2009. There they made many friends and had an active life. Malcolm chaired the Men’s Book Club and both he and Susan were active contributors to Bridges, NewBridge’s newsletter. Mal had a keen sense of humor and was a master of the one liner. He was a lover of classical music and an avid reader. Most important to Mal was family, and he and Susan centered their lives around their family.
Services will be held on Friday December 16, at 10am at Levine Chapels, 470 Harvard St., Brookline. Burial will follow at Beit Olam East Cemetery, 42 Concord Rd., Wayland.
Shiva will be at NewBridge on the Charles, 5000 Great Meadow Rd., Dedham from 3pm-4:30pm on Friday December 16 and continuing at the home of Diane & Colin Bailey, The Hills at Mainstone, Wayland on Sunday, December 18 from 2pm-4pm.
