

Margy was born on July 2, 1929 to Leon and Ruth Epstein in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. Margy graduated from American University and received her Master’s degree from Simmons College.
Margy enjoyed a career in the travel industry, teaching special education classes, and as the Director of Jewish National Fund of New England. She was active in the sisterhood of Mishkan Tefila, Combined Jewish Philanthropies and Hadassah.
Margy was married to Julian H. Katzeff , (late) and they had two children, Michael L. Katzeff and Yahara Katzeff.
Margy’s favorite activities were spending time with her granddaughters, reading, knitting, playing the piano, cooking, playing mahjong, bridge and traveling.
Margy is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Cindy Katzeff of Newton, daughter Yahara Katzeff, of Turner Falls, granddaughters Julie and Erin Katzeff, and Cousins Richard Adelsheim and Jeanne Livingstone, several second cousins, of whom she was quite fond.
Services will be held at Levine Chapels, 470 Harvard St., Brookline, Ma. at 1:00 pm on Monday, November 27, 2023 and burial will take place immediately after at Mishkan Tefila Cemetery, 2605 Centre Street, W. Roxbury, Ma. Shiva will be held at a later time. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to CJP or the Boston Food Bank.
