Cohen, Milton David, formerly of Delray Beach and Boca Raton, Florida and Framingham. The world lost a kind, gentle and selfless man and our hearts were broken when Milton David Cohen, age 90, passed away on February, 17, 2016. Milton was born on September 14, 1925 in Somerville, MA to the late Harry and Etta Cohen and brother to the late Shirley Cohen Forest. His wife, Charlotte Cohen preceded Milton in death. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Susan Cohen of MA; Steven Cohen and Daughter-in-law Judith Royce-Cohen of Virginia, two loving grandchildren Kate and Joshua Cohen and his many nieces, nephews and friends. Milton graduated from Roxbury Memorial High School in 1942 and was drafted into the army at age 18 in 1943 while at Boston University. Milton, a very proud WWII veteran, was reluctant to speak about his service. He was part of the 30th Infantry Division, which followed in the footsteps of the D-Day invasion. He was wounded on two occasions and managed the after-effects from those wounds for the rest of his life. He continually demonstrated the strength and courage of a man whose life changed dramatically before he reached the age of 20. He earned several medals, including two Purple Hearts with three bronze battle stars. Milton’s life changed when he met Charlotte Solomon in 1948. He felt immediately comfortable with her; they fell in love and eventually married in 1951; their marriage lasted over 62 years. He not only married Charlotte, he married into the entire Solomon family. Graveside services will be held on Sunday, February, 21st at 11:45 AM at Sharon Memorial Park, 40 Dedham St., Sharon. Friends and relatives will gather following interment at a location to be announced at services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
