

STAVIS, Norman Allen, of Boxford and Rockport, Massachusetts, died peacefully in Boston, Massachusetts, on June 3, 2018, at the age of 69 after a brief battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife Robyn (Allen) of 32 years, his children Barrie, Rachel and her fiancé AJ Machnes, and Joshua; his brother James Stavis and sister in law, Kate (Griffin), and Betsy and Matt. Norm was predeceased by his father, Melvin Stavis, and mother, Betta (Hochberger). He was a graduate of Newton South High School and CW Post College. An industry icon, Norm was president of North Coast Seafoods. He was as passionate about the growth of North Coast as he was about his employees, customers, and industry friends. Norm loved to learn. He was a voracious reader, an intense listener and loyal friend to many. Whether a new acquaintance or life long friend, Norm treated everyone with the same compassion and respect as he would his own family. Services will he held at 10am on Tuesday, June 5th, 2018, at Temple Emanuel, 385 Ward Street, Newton, MA, 02459, followed by burial at Sharon Memorial Park, 40 Dedham Street, Sharon, MA, 02067. Immediately following interment, condolences may be extended at a reception at Pine Brook Country Club from 1pm-4pm and 5:30pm-8pm. 42 Newton Street, Weston, MA, 02493. Norm was proud to participate in a clinical trial as part of his cancer treatment. He firmly believed that by doing so he would be able to help countless others.
